STEP INTO THE PROJECTION DANCE TO THE MUSIC, SHADOW PLAY, BE TRANSPORTED TO FAR AWAY LANDS.  


LUMINA is a vibrant immersive, multi-sensory experience that transforms documentary into a living, interactive story. Created by filmmaker (documentary artist) and photographer Serena Stevenson, the work projects visual narratives captured across Asia, Southeast Asia, India, Northeast India, Egypt, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Eastern Europe, the Pacific, and New Zealand.

At the center of the space, a dancer in white becomes a moving canvas, her body illuminated with the faces and stories of diverse communities from around the world. As live electronic musicians MissB, Sofiane Tib, and MOMOCHE play an original performance designed especially for LUMINA, the audience is invited to step into the projection, using their own movement and shadows to engage with the images. Participants become co-creators, weaving themselves into the stories and exploring the intersection of movement, identity, and cultural narrative.

This interactive dance floor dissolves the boundary between observer and artwork/performance, offering a space where participants not only witness but inhabit the diverse human experiences captured in Serena Stevenson’s cultural journeys. LUMINA is a celebration of global connectivity, cultural exchange, and the transformative power of participatory story music sharing.
