LUMINA– - An Immersive Dance and Projection Experience
LUMINA is an immersive, multi-sensory experience that transforms documentary into a living, interactive story. Created by filmmaker (documentary artists) and photographer Serena Stevenson in collaboration with DJ Lisa Greenfield, the work projects visual narratives captured across Asia, Southeast Asia, India, Northeast India, Egypt, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Eastern Europe, the Pacific, and New Zealand.
At the center of the space, a dancer in white becomes a moving canvas, her body illuminated with the faces and stories of diverse communities from around the world. As DJ Lisa Greenfield performs a live ethnic house set, the audience is invited to step into the projection, using their own movement and shadows to engage with the images. Participants become co-creators, weaving themselves into the stories and exploring the intersection of movement, identity, and cultural narrative.
This two-hour activation dissolves the boundary between observer and artwork, offering a space where participants not only witness but inhabit the diverse human experiences captured in Serena Stevenson’s diverse cultural work. LUMINA is a celebration of global connectivity, cultural exchange, and the transformative power of participatory story sharing.
